Faiz Ali Faiz is the 7th generation of Qawwali musician in his family.
Qawwali music is sufi music, and plays an important role in the religious life in Pakistan and Northern India.
Faiz started as a professional musician in 1978. His uncle, Rehmat Ali Khan, used to play harmonium with the world star of qawwali music, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and Faiz Ali Faiz is often called his inheritor.
